PB Cosmetology Education Centre offers lifetime job placement assistance to all of its graduates. As part of the classroom instruction students are given guidance in job search strategies, resume writing, as well as practical demonstration techniques for interviewing within this industry. In addition to group instruction, PB has established excellent relationships with employers in the Philadelphia Metropolitan area and will work on an individual basis with graduates to help seek out the perfect position. The demand for licensed professionals is so great; that 30% of all job openings go unfilled each year due to a lack of qualified employees. Today, the growing salon industry offers a “zero unemployment”. PB’s job placement rate has consistently been at or above 95%. The average salary for a salon professional in New Jersey today is $30,000 to $50,000 per year (as reported by NACCAS 2003 Job Demand Survey).
Salons, spas, product and cosmetic companies all employee our graduates. Many of the salon owners in the Philadelphia metropolitan area are graduates of our programs including Louis Christian of Louis Christian Wayne Robert and Co., Gino Giumarello of In the Village, Gino Giannini of Gino’s, Warren Collins of Warren’s Hair Design, Madeline Nolder of Salon Santa Fe, Debbie Engstrom of Hello Gorgeous Salons, Glenn Sirman of Luna Salon and Spa, Jay Luciano of Cheveux Hair Designs, Claudia Guglietti of Estetica by Domenic, Maria Sparacio of L’Etoile and Joyce Munyan Monte of Positive Waves just to name a few.
We encourage salons to post positions through our Job Placement Line (856) 456-0177. Job openings are posted in our Student Lounge where students of all programs have access to them. In addition, salon owners and managers are invited in as guest artists and guest speakers to expose our student body to new and exciting opportunities. Prior to graduation, students are given a work permit that enables them to work in a salon or spa under the guidance of a licensed cosmetologist. This allows them to take that first step towards becoming an industry professional and gain valuable on the job experience.
All PB Cosmetology students and alumni are invited to visit the Career Services Department and take advantage of its valuable resources.
